The word endodontic is derived from the Greek word “eno” meaning ‘within’ and the Greek word “odous” meaning ‘tooth’! Endodontic therapy is commonly known as root canal treatment and is aimed at clearing tooth infection and protecting the tooth from infections later.
Endodontics is part of our services to our patients and although it is not recognized as a specialist treatment, it is carried out in the most vital part of the tooth: the pulp. The pulp is situated in the center of the tooth in the pulp chamber and contains large nerves, connective tissues and blood vessels. It is therefore treatment that should only be carried out by an experienced dentist.
